Posted by Fenix Skai
Background:
5LINX is a rapidly growing telecommunications company that provides services across the United States and in 20 countries abroad. The company distributes its products and services through a network of dedicated independent marketing representatives. Their representatives provide their customers with the latest in telecommunications products and services such as; cellular phones and plans from all major U.S. carriers, satellite TV service from DISH Network and DIRECTV, and the company’s own GLOBALINX® VoIP services. 5LINX's wholly owned subsidiary, GLOBALINX®, is a premier provider of VoIP services for residential and business clients.
Products:
5LINX's major products are Home Security Systems, ID Guard (technology to help protect against ID Theft), Satellite TV service from DISH Network and DIRECTV, and the company’s own GLOBALINX® VoIP services and CU-3000 Video Phone.
Pros:
- Reasonable Business Start-Up cost of $499 and $49.99 per month to stay active
- Provided with your own custom website
- Provided with an online Back Office complete with Trainings, Educational Modules, Business Information and Documents
- Great track record of sustained growth over 9 years
- Many people are already using the services
- 5LINX offers various bonuses and incentives
Cons:
- Takes time to build true income with 5LINX. Most will earn between $1500 - $2500 for the entire year
- 5LINX is in an extremely competitive market with other top competitors like ACN, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Radio Shack
- No real marketing strategy... 5LINX advises selling to Friends and Family members (this rarely works because they have all already tried MLM or heard it was a scam)
- Requires a ton of cold-calling and Home Meeting Parties
- Your success is still dependant upon your recruits duplicating you (this hurts superstar sellers)
- Very little support and training in the way of marketing and generating quality leads

Conclusion:
In conclusion, 5LINX is a great opportunity for the true networker that has a love for the telecommunications industry. 5LINX has nice customized websites, a relatively low start-up cost (compared to other small businesses or franchises) and a stellar track record of growth. However, the "Friends and Family" marketing style, cold calling and home meetings is a big turn off. Furthermore, 5LINX is in a very competitive industry with very average products and services. Lastly, "Show me the money." Well, not many are doing that in their first 12-24 months... so this business model is really about delayed gratification. All in all, I hate being mean so I'll just say this one is not at the top of my list, but certainly not on the bottom either. If you love the telecommunications industry and can deal with the cold-calling, frequent meeting and moderate income, then this just may be for you.
